City of Sarasota - One Stop Shop Project Tour

Join us for a project tour of the City of Sarasota's "One Stop Shop"

Public Works, Engineering, and Code Enforcement under one roof.

The last time the City of Sarasota built a new office building was over 40 years ago. Just opened in July of this year, this is your opportunity to see behind the scenes at the City’s new One Stop Shop office building on 2nd Street in downtown Sarasota. Join the tour as the design-build team explains the advantages of the design-build process, how to work with government staff to draft an efficient space allocation program, and how to create appropriate levels of security and privacy in a government office building.

Other topics of discussion will include

• 1. Strategies for designing office buildings on zero lot line buildings.
• 2. Alternatives to rooftop mechanical equipment.
• 3. Dealing with access easements.

Staff from Hoyt Architects and Willis Smith Construction, along with City of Sarasota Development Services Director Lucia Panica and Planning Director Steve Cover will be on site to guide the presentation and respond to questions.
