Effective sound control is particularly relevant whenever there are multiple units in a building. Installing a tiled floor that meets minimum acceptable standards for sound control is a complex undertaking. There are many approaches and products available on the market and that may lead to confusion and undesirable results.
This seminar serves to highlight the key factors that should be considered when installing a tiled floor where sound control is a consideration.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize two types of sound control ratings (Sound Transmission Class (STC) & Impact Insulation Class (IIC)) and understand their relevance to a flooring assembly.
2. Distinguish between an IIC rating and a delta IIC contribution.
3. Identify the components of a floor/ceiling assembly required for effective sound control.
4. List the characteristics of different sound control materials suitable for use underneath a tiled floor covering.
5. Recognize measures that must be taken to address real-world sound control challenges.

Free to members. Non-members $10.

Lunch will be provided
Please RSVP by Tuesday, August 14
