Chilled beam air conditioning systems have been used for decades in modern European buildings and are now becoming a popular system with North American building owners due to their low maintenance, low energy consumption and high indoor air quality. This course provides an overview of chilled beam technology and how the system could be used to reduce the overall building construction costs while reducing energy and maintenance bills and increasing indoor air quality. Integrated Service Beams (ISB's) combine a chilled beam unit with other services such as lighting in a neat and compact package designed for use in buildings with or without suspended ceilings. This course explores how the use of ISB's in new buildings can result in faster construction times and reduced costs.
